After hearing about this product and taking a trip to Karen’s Body Beautiful’s store in Brooklyn, NY and WATCHING them make it. I decided to try it.
Karen’s Body Beautiful Hair Milk (Sweet Ambrosia)* $16
Ingredients: Purified Water, Jojoba and Avocado Oils, Vegetable Wax, Panthenol, Arnica, Calendula, Echinacea, Nettle & Horsetail Extracts, Vegetable Glycerin, Wheat Germ Oil, Essential and/or Fragrance Oil, Natural Enzymes & Vitamin E
I’m a big fan of these all-natural ingredients, and I’m an even bigger fan of what this stuff does to my hair! I find that this product works best on dry hair. It is the same consistency as conditioner or lotion and it works really well to moisturize my hair and make it nice and shiny. I like how it makes my twistouts look nice and full, and how my puffs stay nice and soft. . (It does not, however, provide much hold, so you need to use some type of gel for that). The great thing about this product is that a little goes a long way, which helps make the price fit your budget better. You can also choose from 12 distinctive scents. (My favorite is the Coco Lime).
twistout with Hair Milk
RATING: 4 Smart – Good ingredients, a little pricey, but lasts a long time! *KBB has recently changed the name of the Hair Milk to “Sweer Ambrosia”
*Savvy Ratings: 5=Savvy 4=Smart 3=Suitable 2=Satisfactory 1=Stupid
I love KBB products. Right now, my favorite is the hair nectar. Even though I have thick, 4b hair,it works well in the Florida humidity. My favorite fragrances are lavender vanilla, coco lime, and cranberry cocktail.

i love this stuff. i use the hair milk everyday on my wash n go’s. it is light in consistency but really does keep my hair moist. i have only tried the coco mango scent and i love it. i plan on trying some other scents in the future.
I really want to try some, sounds like the scents alone are DIVINE!!
I bought the honey oatmeal last time I was in Brooklyn. It smell sreally great, but didn’t do anything special for my hair, and unfortunately made me break out in a rash — must be one of the fragrances. So alas I won’t be buying it again and am reluctant to try anything else from them. Nonetheless, the shop is lovely and the whole staff (including Ms. Karen herself) were super friendly, helpful, and well-presented. I wish them success!
@Camille Aww no! Maybe next time try it unscented..
My husband and I took a special trip out to Brooklyn the last time we were up there just to visit this store. Staff was great. I use the Hair Milk (Cranberry Cocktail) as a daily moisturizer on wash-n-gos or twist outs. I find my hair really drinks this stuff in comparison to other moisturizers, so I’m not sure if I’ll purchase it again, but I would recommend it. We also bought one of the daily facial moisturizers, and my husband *loves* it. He has sensitive skin, so to find something that works well for him is a huge plus. Will certainly purchase the face lotion again.
I love her milk and nectar! The scents are heavenly and the moisture is excellent!
Is the coco mango or coco lime better?
@Lucky I like the coco mango
Ok thanks
Also I have type 2C hair and its not exactly curly but is extremely wavy, thick and coarse do you think this will work well for my type of hair? Or do you reccomend something else?
Any suggestions yet?
@Lucky (Sorry I answered this but forgot to post it). Yes! I think it would work, because it’s very light. It’s much lighter than most Hair Milks that I’ve tried. Try using it as a leave-in first and come back and tell me how it worked for you! Again, sorry for the slow response.
Ok thank you so much
will do
