I ♥ Skoy Cloths!

This is an unbiased review, I swear. But I can tell you right now, that after I tried them, that I LOVE these things. I don’t remember what site I was on that recommended them, but I ordered them and have loved them ever since.

Skoy cloths

Skoy Cloths 4 pak $7.95; Single cloth pak $3.99

The SKOY cloth is a fabulous, absorbent, biodegradable and natural multi-use cloth.  Our re-usable earth friendly cloth is perfect in your kitchen, bathroom, and on most surface areas in your home or office.  SKOY cloth can be used in place of your sponge, wash cloth or paper towels.

It is a European made product and 100% biodegradable because it is made from a natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp.  SKOY cloth is a chlorine-free product using water-based colors and inks.  After an independent composting test, SKOY cloth broke down completely within 5 weeks. – Skoy cloth website

How I used them:

I ordered a 4 pack and 4 lovely colors showed up, purple, pink, baby blue and orange. They are 7″ by 7″ and I promptly put one each in the kitchen, the bathroom, the laundry room and in the pantry (on reserve). They work great. Skoy cloths have the consistency of a thin sponge, but not paper thin like Handi Wipes. These are NOT microfiber cloths, (those are NOT compostable). They wring out REALLY well, and I use them to wipe off the counters, take up spills, and anything that requires liquid cleanup. The thing to note is that they ONLY work wet. When they dry, they dry hard liek corrugated cardboard or something, which is fine, but you can’t really dust with them, because they have to be damp in order to use them. They are easily cleaned. I’ve cleaned mine 3 ways, in the microwave, in the dishwasher andin the washine machine. All worked great! (Just be careful when you take it out of the microwave, it gets HOT!)

RATING*: 5 Savvy - Reusable, works great, saves money and is eco-friendly!*

The word “Skoy” is actually a Swedish word that means “fun” and was created by two moms out in California. To learn more about the cloths and their story click here.

Skoy cloths have been added to my arsenal of items that I now use instead of paper towels.  Oh and I’ve had mine since December ’09 and they’re not raggedy yet! It’s great to know that they’re fully compostable, but it’s also good to know that you won’t need to get rid of them for awhile!

*Savvy Rating system:  5=Savvy  4=Smart  3=Sensible  2=Satisfactory   1=Stupid

Skoy cloths are now available in the Savvy Shop!
