Recently I want home to jamaica and used aloe vera gel (straight from the leaf) as my sun protection. My dad just sliced the leaf open and i rubbed the gel straight on my skin. I had a beautiful copper colour (since aloe "stains" the skin...like the colour of iodine) when i finishes and my skin did not burn!!! After showering upon returning from beach days, i just rubbed on a shea / coconut oil mix and i was good to go.

My son and I have such sensitive skin. This summer I have been using the sunscreen by ALBA that is unscented. Our problem is using it on our face. BAD IDEA! Break outs big time from really anything on the face.

I've used shea butter and still burned. If you mix the shea butter and avacado oil will it increase the SPF?
I will be attending a few events where making my own shade isn't an option and I'll be in direct sunlight. These won't be frequent so I'll try to increase my veggies and fruits.
Did you find anything for sunburns and peeling?
