Hair Product Review: Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly butter

Bee mine header

If you’re new to wearing your 3c, 4a, 4b hair natural, or even if you’re a veteran, it’s really hard sometimes to find good styling products that don’t have icky ingredients in them. Bee Mine is a product line that you should definitely check out.

Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter 8oz. $12.99

I REALLY like this product. It has decent hold, and my wet twistouts can last all week in some form or another. It does have glycerine in it, so if you’re worried about the glycerine being a humectant and making your hair dry out in cool weather, then I would use a leave-in condish under it. I use my Homemade Daily Leave-In condish (without glycerine) and it works out great.

Ingredients: 100% Shea Butter, 100% Aloe Vera Gel, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Rosemary Leaf and Chammomile Extract, Silk Powder and Perfume

Scents available: Coconut Cream, Unscented, Island Mango (Tropical Mango) my favorite!

For more information, check out Bee Mine here.

RATING*: 4 Smart – The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 is because of the price. (I wish it was less than $10.) All natural ingredients, smells great, great customer service, excellent results right out of the jar.

*Savvy Ratings:  5=Savvy  4=Smart  3=Sensible  2=Satisfactory   1=Stupid

I love this product too. I ordered it and it was here 3 days later even with a HUGE snow storm in between!

The smell is great (island mango) and it leaves my hair soft, although when i first apply it it seems as tho it will not moisturize my hair because of the way my hair feels, kinda like hair after being int he pool–but once it settles in i love it and it’s moisturizing!

This one is on my ‘to buy’ list along with KCCC. Also, just putting it out there that if you go to their website and create an account for free, you get a coupon for your first purchase.

    • Ok…so because of you, I’m ordering this right now. Your texture looks very similar to mine, and my twistouts don’t last nearly as long as I would like them to. My hair isn’t as long as yours either. How do you protect your twistouts at night? Mine always get all flat :(

Hey Jennae! (LOVE your site btw). I used to do the satin bonnet thing, but unless it’s a really big one, it flatten my curls. I’ve found that just sleeping with my hair out on a satin pillowcase or with a silk scarf wrapped around a pillow, I get good results. I’m a side sleeper, so the other thing I do is carefully (without pulling the hair tight) pin back the sides with big duckbill clips, so I kind of look like I’m sporting a big curly frohawk! LOL! And again sleep on the satin pillow. HTH

Savvy, does the Bee Curly hold the mositure and sheen all day? You know how you can use some products that look great for an hour and then seem to dry out, so what is the hold like? Thanks.

    • Savvy says:

If I use it to twist on wet hair at the beginning of the week, and I let it dry sufficiently, I don’t re-twist for the rest of the WEEK. The first two days I style it and leave it alone. It does have a bit of sheen on it’s own, but I like sealing my twists with castor oil for some extra shine. I will spritz my hair with my leave-in for moisture during the week.
