So after hearing people on longhaircareforum.com, naturallycurly.com and curlynikki.com rave about shampoo bars I decided to try a few. I use a shampoo bar the same way I wash my hair in my normal routine, section by section concentrating on the scalp. The other reason why I like shampoo bars is that you can also use them on your body! You guys KNOW how I like multitasking my products!
Anita Grant’s Babassu Amla Shampoo Bar £7.05 ($10.62 US)+shipping
Ingredients:
Organic Babassu Oil, Refined Mango Butter, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Amla (Indian Gooseberry), Organic Castor Oil, saponified (this makes it sudsy) with Ashbeck Mountain Spring water from Cumbria, England
The site has a detailed description of each of these ingredients and what they do. click here.
Anita Grant is located in London, England, so you have to order her products online and they take a few weeks to show up. Unless of course you live there…so Georgina, Adrianna and all of my UK followers you’re in LUCK!
This bar was worth the wait though. It’s a pretty big bar, so the first thing I did was cut it up into four pieces, and then I cut one of those pieces in half (I hate wasting soap so I do this a lot).
AG Babassou and Amla Shampoo Bar
Then I took one of the small pieces and managed to wash my whole head with it! It does lather, but not too much and you can feel the oils in it working. My hair definitely did detangle a little easier, and I didn’t use much of the bar at all. It felt great on my body too, and I wasn’t left with that dry tightness I get when I use regular soap on my skin.
I received my bar in January, and of those four pieces, I’ve only used two, so it definitely is worth the money because it lasts. However, if you need immediate gratification 3 weeks is a long time to wait for a product.
RATING*: 4 Smart – The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 is because of the time it takes to get to me here in the US. and I wish it was less than $10 US. But it has all natural ingredients, smells great, multiple uses
*Savvy Ratings: 5=Savvy 4=Smart 3=Sensible 2=Satisfactory 1=Stupid
I LOVE this!!! On my way over to buy a bar….
Thanks for these killer tips- my soon to be beautifully enhanced self appreciates ya!!
xoxo
I thought you would! Please tell me what the store is like! I’ve always wondered…. You might also want to check out her http://bit.ly/c2cyFh ” rel=”nofollow”>Rhassoul Deep Conditioning Clay. It works just like the Bentonite Clay I used, but has more oils in it.
Yay, I see a new obsession coming on
I just purchased this shampoo today! I can’t wait to try it out! Next time I will try the Bentonite Clay she sells! Thanks for link and info!
I have been dying to try a shampoo bar
[...] all types up hair. The shampoo bar is a nice size and so I cut it up just like the one I got from Anita Grant. I cleaned my hair in sections following my normal routine. A small piece lathered up a lot and [...]
I love anita grant and use this shampoo bar, all of her products are great. It’s the only product i don’t have to spend an arm and leg having shipped over here to London !!
@Adrianna, you so so LUCKY!
I used this once it really dried out my hair. I was really bummed out because they are very expensive. I will try it again soon sometime
I just received my Anita Grant Shampoo bar and pomenade. It took over 2 months to get here and I don’t like the products at all. The shampoo dried out my hair and the other products made my hair frizzy. Not worth the money or time it took to get here.
@Marsha Thank you so much for commenting! Yeah, that wait time is a killer, What kind of shampoo bar did you get? Thanks for the heads up on the pomade. What type hair do you have? Mine’s 4a-4b, so I’m curious.
